Mine was a used one from ebay where they seem to pop up quite often. £7 inc postage, another one I was watching sold for under £4 a few days later... A "Micronet USB" search should find one.

You might also want to think about a short USB A plug (male) to A socket (female) extension lead to save ferreting about behind the ME1 if you plan to unplug the dongle to plug in other things. Should cost less than £2.

Good luck

Got a Micronet USB Dongle in a box :o , so I can supply any part numbers etc because it works :D

Plugged it in, entered the WEP key etc & woosh, WiFi :ugeek:

Only getting ~5000kb/s max but seems to handle playing 720p movies much better than the Homeplug system.

Only thing is the lag in remote to ME-1 action when playing over WiFi and the constant "Testing Network Speed" when browsing the files in browser. :|

Extension lead also seemed problematic, LED didn't come on and dongle not detected. Works fine with other USB devices so dongle could be a little sensitive on the +5V supply it needs.

** Crazy idea : Put a USB Hub between them that has it own Power Supply ??

The best thing about the ME1 is its playaboutability ( i just made that up), it really is hard to break it so just mess with it and find out.

Glad to hear you are wireless at last. I fully agree with your comments about the annoying network speed testing/remote lag. This is something else which could be sorted out by improved firmware.

This cable:

works fine for me.

Hi to all from first time poster!

I've had an ME1 (SATA version with 1TB) for a while now and got a Micronet USB dongle recently
It connects to my network OK, but when playing movies from the hard drive it just freezes after a few mins
(Without the dongle its fine)

Wondered if anyone else has had the same issues?
Was thinking about getting a powered USB hub as perhaps the dongle is drawing too much power or something is overheating?
Its the same one as you guys have reported as working, the white 907GK one

Any advice? thanks

"Obtained" a higher quality lead from work and now getting much higher signal strength and lag seems less. :?

720p movies streaming perfectly. Only thing to get done now is put each movie in it's own folder along with a synopsis of the plot from IMDB.com. Reasons :

1. Speeds up browser
2. Synopsis stops the other half asking me to recount the whole plot prior to deciding wether she wants to watch it or not......
