When I try to record, using OTR, the unit becomes unresponsive after about 30 minutes, meaning I have to reboot. Part of the recording is saved on the hard drive and is fine, but obviously it would be nice to have the whole film, not part of it! I have upgraded to the latest firmware - any hints and tips on what the problem could be?

Mine has done the same from day one. Every time I record a film it freezes. Can`t time shift either. The unit records about 10 - 30 mins then stops responding. It`s really P-ing me off. I am so sick of it and support just ignore you.

Same problem for me - the newer version of the operating system seems to have the inability to record onto the hard drive - if you connect an external USB drive and record to that it works fine.

Alternatively, you could downgrade to the old operating system version, which allows you to record to the hard drive, but it needs you to partition that part of the drive to Linux, so it's unreadable by windows if you want to copy files to your computer once you've recorded them..

I did loads of things, swapped the motherboard, changed operating systems and none of them worked, so I just stick with recording to an external USB drive - it's an extra bit of wires hanging around, but it means I can back things up and swap them around between the emprex and my PC..

If anyone else knows of a better solution, I'm all ears!!
